Chapter 828: "Yes, sir!" Robin barely had a heartbeat to respond before he was slammed against the wall, pinned tight.

"Who the fuck are you? What's your game?" Robin demanded.

Quentin didn't spare him a glance, stepping aside with cool indifference to wait.

Moments later, Ernest strode in, his cane tapping the floor, his face carved from stone as he made a beeline for the second floor.

The master bedroom door yawned open, soft sobs spilling out into the hall.

Ernest's features hardened as he crossed the threshold.

Guided by the sound of her sobs, he found Elissa huddled in the corner beside the bed.

She was scarcely clothed, her dignity hanging by a thread.

Ernest instinctively averted his eyes, his voice booming toward the doorway. "No one steps foot in here!" With effort, he cast his cane aside, turned back, and eased himself down to kneel before Elissa.

Ernest's leg was still far from fully healed, each movement a struggle-especially crouching. "Elissa..." he whispered.

He had barely spoken when Elissa shrieked, a high-pitched cry splitting the air. She clutched her ears, trembling violently, her eyes wild with terror. "Don't cany closer! I told you not to!” In a flash, her hand darted to her neck.

That was when Ernest saw it—a jagged shard of glass glinting in her hand.

It was from the broken clock she'd smashed earlier, now clenched tight in her fist.

Suddenly, her eyelids fluttered. Her grip slackened. The shard slipped from her fingers, landing with a soft clink as her body gave out and collapsed straight into Ernest's arms.

With a grunt of effort, he caught her. Tight.

Just moments earlier, he'd struck the side of her neck-swift and precise. It was the only way to stop her before she hurt herself. There had been no other choice.

With a heavy sigh, Ernest pulled the blanket from the bed, wrapping it securely around Elissa's unconscious form. Then, frowning, he lifted her into his arms and carried her toward the door.

"Mr. Flynn?" Quentin appeared at the top of the stairs and rushed to meet him. "Please lettake her." But Ernest shifted away, his brow tight with resolve. "No need. I've got her." Quentin blinked in surprise. "But, your leg..."

The weight should've been unbearable-Ernest's injured legm wasn't supposed to carry much, let alone a person.

"I'm fine." Ernest shook his head again, voice firm. "It's almost healed. She's so light. Carrying her a few steps won't break me."

"Alright." With Ernest so resolute, Quentin could only relent. Behind Robin remained pinned to the them, Robin wall, oblivious to everything unfolding. As Ernest strode past, his refined features darkened. Without warning, he drove a savage kick into Robin's gut.
