Chapter 125 Keep His Good
Deeds A Secret
Wait, what?
What did Blanche just say?
Hadley stood stock still, her face void of any expression.
Such disbelief gripped her that it seemed entirely unreal
“Could you repeat that?” Hadley gasped, her voice quivering
Blanche chuckled lightly.
Shaking her head, Blanche said, “You have one opportunity. Would you rather keep your career in showbiz or
return to your first love, dancing?”
“Oh, | would absolutely adore that!”
Overcwith enthusiasm, Hadley’s cheeks turned a bright shade of red as her words tumbled out hastily.
“I mean, Ms. Nicolson, it's dancing | want to return to! It’s my dream to dance alongside you!”
Her mind began to regain focus.
Excitement pounded in her heart and tears of joy started to brim in her eyes.
“Ms. Nicolson, | apologize, I'm just so thrilled!”
Never had she imagined that she might get the chance to rejoin the dance troupe or that Blanche would
“personally seek her out!
“Ms. Nicolson, I'm truly grateful for this opportunity.” Hadley expressed with heartfelt appreciation.
Her joy was unmistakable.
Despite previous missteps, Blanche could tell that Hadley’s passion and skill in dance were undeniable. Choosing
the disciplined life of a dancer over the sparkling world of showbiz was kind of uncommon for young and
beautiful girls like Hadley. The allure of the entertainment industry, with its promise of fand fortune, often
proved irresistible.
Blanche, satisfied, waved off the gratitude. “No need for that.”
The real gratitude, she thought, should go to Eric instead.
Yet, she withheld this because Eric had wished to remain anonymous.

Blanche pondered why Eric preferred to keep his good deeds a secret, but it was not her place to question.
“I must be going now,” Blanche said. Rising from her seat, she instructed, “Report toat the stutomorrow
morning.”
“Understood, Ms. Nicolson! Take care,” Hadley called out as she watched her leave.
With Blanche gone, Hadley felt a surge of exhilaration. She hurried off to share the news with Elvin.
“Mr. Webster, | must apologize. It seems the entertainment world isn’t the right fit for me. After today, | won't
be returning.”
“Do you really mean that?”
Elvin was puzzled, unable to grasp her sudden change of heart.
“Indeed, I've given it a lot of thought, Mr. Webster. Dancing aligns better with who | am.” With sincerity, Hadley
said, “I'm rejoining the dance troupe.”
It suddenly made sense to him.
With a light-hearted laugh at the surprising news, Elvin responded without any pushback, “I get it. Just focus on
nailing your part tonight.”
“I will.” Feeling a wave of gratitude, Hadley said, “Mr. Webster, your support has been invaluable. Even as | leave
this industry, I'll always carry the memories of your kindness.”
Elvin offered a smile. “And I'll remember you too, as a friend. Here's to a stellar debut back on stage!”
“Much appreciated.”
Grasping his hand firmly, she thanked him again. “Thanks so much, Mr. Webster.”
The evening's filming proceeded without a hitch.
Once she was free of her stage makeup, Hadley saw a video call notification from Mathias on her phone.
Occasionally, Joy would request Mathias’ or Colleen’s help to make a video call to her mother.
As soon as Hadley accepted the call, Joy's cheerful face filled the screen.
“Mommy!”
“Hello, Joy.”
“Mommy, Joy misses you so much. When will you be home?”
Well...
Longing tugged at Hadley’s heart too, yet she knew she had to secure her footing in Srixby first. This would
ensure a stable future for Joy when she rejoined her.
This brief separation was essential.
“Sweetie, | need to discuss this with Dr. Williams. We'll sort everything out and I'll update you soon, okay?”
“Alright.”

Joy compliantly passed the phone to Mathias, saying, “Your turn, Uncle Mathias,”
“Thank you, Joy.”
As Mathias’s face appeared on the screen, the conversation shifted.
“Ms. Pearson.”
“Dr. Williams, regarding the procedure for joy...”
“I was on the verge of bringing that up. Joy’s surgery is tentatively scheduled for a month from now, possibly
less.” Mathias explained, “We'll finalize the date about a week before the procedure and I'll let you know right
away. You'll be able to make it back in time, won't you?”
“Absolutely, Ill be there!”
Tears sprang to Hadley’s eyes as she grasped the timeline. “So, in about a month, Joy will-"
Her voice faltered, choked by the swell of her emotions.
“Yes.”
Grasping the depth of her feelings, Mathias added, “In just a short while, Joy will undergo her operation and
make a full recovery, and then she’ll be living just like her peers.”
Overwhelmed, Hadley’s hand flew to her mouth as tears clouded her vision. “Thank you so much, Dr. Williams.”
Once she had packed up her things, Hadley was exiting the film set when her phone rang.
“Hello, Hadley?”
Background noise filled the other end.
Denver's voice grew louder. “I know you are shooting tonight. Are you done? I'm nearby and can swing by to
pick you up.”
Certainly, Denver hadn't just happened to be in the area.
Yet, because Hadley hadn't yet reciprocated his feelings, he was careful not to seem too eager.

“You're nearby?” Pausing, Hadley scanned her surroundings. “I'm right at the entrance. Can’t spot you, though.
Where exactly are you?”
“I've got my eyes on you. Just hold your position.”
“Understood.”
Shortly after, Denver's vehicle cto a halt in front of her.
He exited the car and approached her with a brisk stride.
“Denver!”
This evening, Hadley’s spirits were particularly high. Not only had her professional circumstances improved, but
Joy's surgery was also firmly on the calendar!

Pears of uncertainty were giving way to a promising phase in her life.
Mer face was radiant with happiness, and Denver couldn't resist a smile as well. “You seem really joyful tonight,
aren't you
“Indeed, | am?” Catching his eye, Hadley expressed her gratitude. “Denver, really, thank you.”
“Huh?” He looked puzzled. “For what? What did i do?”
“Have you forgotten already? With a playful pout and a twinkle in her eye, Hadley said, “You got Barrie’s mom
to talk to Ms. Nicolson for me.”
“Oh, right” Denver's response was slow, as if putting the pieces together. “But, that was-"
“It worked” Bursting into laughter, Hadley exclaimed, “Ms. Nicolson visitedtonight! She toldto come
back to the dance troupe tomorrow!”
“Is that so?” Denver reacted with a mix of surprise and joy. “That's incredible, definitely a reason to celebrate.
He paused, uncertain. “Barrie mentioned that his mom didn’t manage to sway Ms. Nicolson...”
*Really?*
Taken by surprise, Hadley questioned, “So, Mrs. Hanson wasn’t the one who intervened?”
Puzzled, she added, “Then who was it that convinced Ms. Nicolson?”
What a mystery!
Denver shrugged off any notion of his involvement. “Well, it wasn’t me. Maybe Mrs. Hanson tried again and it
worked? | need to thank Barrie next tI see him.”
“Absolutely!” Grinning, Hadley affirmed. “I owe thanks to him, to Mrs. Hanson, and to you. | couldn't even have
reached out to Barrie on my own.”
With sincerity, she expressed her gratitude. “Thank you, Denver.”
