Chapter 200
Chapter 266
My pulse skyrocketed, every muscle in my body locking up with sheer horror. “Dylan,” | forced out, my voice
cracking under the weight of my fear, Stop this.”
He grinned, lazy and taunting, his eyes gleaming with amusement, “Why would | do that?”
Panic clawed at my throat, Because you're going to start an all out war between werewolves and humans and so
many people will get killed
Dylan let out a sharp, mocking laugh, shaking his head as if | were a child too naive to grasp the reality of the
world, Oh, Ava,” He sighed, his voice dripping with condescension. “That's the point. Now, as | was saying—your
irritating best friend? She’ll be dead soon. And Rickon? Well, that will be payback for that little stunt he pulled in
his office, even though | allowed
1 clenched my fists, my entire body vibrating with barely contained rage.
Dylan sighed, tapping his fingers against the wheel in an infuriatingly casual rhythm, “There are so many
advantages to playing the fool. Just as good as Damien pretending to be invisible. People underestimate you
when they think you're not a threat.”
| kept quiet, but my mind was spiraling, racing through possibilities, through anything I could use against him.
That was the problem.
| was thinking, Sitting here, listening to his bullshit when | should have been acting.
My wolf growled, sensing my shift in energy, in intention.
Dylan's head tilted slightly, his smirk deepening. He knew. He knew | was about to do something.
1 didn’t care.
My claws extended in a flash, my body moving before my mind even fully caught up. I lunged but he was faster.
A sharp, brutal force slammed intobefore | could make contact. The car jerked violently, tires screeching as
Dylan fought to keep control, but the impact had thrown everything off balance.
“You idiot!” He snarled as the car swerved, my body jerking against the seatbelt.
The next few seconds were a blur. The screech of metal, the sickening crunch of impact-then a sudden, jarring
stop.
My vision swam as | tried to push past the disorientation, tried to reach for the door handle but Dylan was
already there.
His hand fisted in my hair, yankingout of the car with a force that sent a sharp burst of pain through my
scalp. | wasn’t fast enough to react-he threwto the ground, the breath knocked from my lungs as | hit the
ground hard.
| barely had a second to recover before his boot cdown and a sickening crack shot through my leg.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt| screamed.
White-hot agony ripped through me, my vision momentarily blacking out from the sheer force of it. My entire
body trembled, my breath coming in short, ragged gasps.
“Stop it!” | choked out, tears burning my eyes, “I'm pregnant!“.

For the first time, Dylan hesitated.
Just for a fraction of a second like he was considering the impact of you
52%
Then his expression shifted, something dark and unreadable passing through his eyes. “And | warned you,” He
muttered, voice almost bored as he lifted his foot again.
| reached desperately for the power inside me-the essence, the only thing that could save me.
Nothing.
Not even a flicker,
“Stop it. I'll listen to whatever you have to say,” | whispered, panic sinking its claws intobecause | couldn't
lose my children.
Dylan clicked his tongue in amusement, “Oh, now you want to listen?”
FD
My wolf lunged to the surface, her rage crashing intolike a tidal wave. My bones shifted, the familiar burn of
transformation taking hold but then the pain hitagain as Dylan’s boot cdown on my other leg, and | felt
something
snap.
A strangled cry tore from my throat as the shift receded, my wolf driven back by the unbearable agony.
“Really stupid move, Ava,” Dylan muttered, shaking his head in mock disappointment, “You never learn.”
| could barely focus, the pain consuming everything, but | still felt it when he grabbed my hair again, yanking me
back toward the car like | was nothing more than a ragdoll.
| clawed at his grip, kicked out with whatever strength | had left, but it was useless.
Dylan just laughed and he kept going then he shovedinto the car, my body collapsing onto the seat with a
sharp, involuntary gasp. My legs were useless, pain throbbing deep in the bones, but | could already feel them
stitching themselves back together, the rapid healing process forcing a new wave of agony through my nerves.
He loomed over me, one hand still tangled in my hair, forcing my head back as he lowered his face to mine. His
breath was warm against my cheek, but his words were pure ice.
“If you ever try something stupid like that again,” He growled, voice low, lethal, “I won't waste a second-Ill rip
those things from your stomach with my own hands.”
My entire body froze.
A cold, nauseating terror coiled deep inside me, my breath hitching. | had no doubt-no doubt-that he meant
every single word.
He let go ofabruptly, slamming the door so hard the entire car shook.
| curled into myself, pressing a shaking hand against my stomach, trying to shield the life growing inside me. My
bones continued to knit back together, but the process was agonizing, my body trembling from the sheer force of
the healing. My wolf was still curled up in the back of my mind, subdued from the pain, but she was watching.
Waiting.
Dylan slid back into the driver's seat, exhaling a sharp breath before starting the car again. Like he hadn't just
beateninto the ground. Like this was just another day.
And | shouldn't have been surprised.

Because he hadn't constantly hitwhen we were married.
He drummed his fingers against the wheel as the engine roared to life, his tone disturbingly casual as he spoke.

Ax1 wax saving. The chack from the wedding isn’t enough.” He mused, be a mess, no doubt, “Blood, screaming,
panic... but it’s too contained. Too easy to explain away.”
His tone darkened, something almost hungry curling around the edges of his words.
“And that’s where your precious fated mate comes into play”
| forced myself to sit up, to breathe, even as the pain still wracked my body, “If you touch him-
I will touch him.” He cunt in. “In fact, | plan to do a lot more than that.”
1 gritted my teeth, swallowing down the fear clawing at my chest, “He will kill you.”
Dylan chuckled. “Will be?” His fingers tapped absently against the steering wheel. “You think he'll be able to
focus when the world around him is collapsing? When the humans are seeing things they shouldn't? When his
own people are being slaughtered? And most importantly when he knows | have you- his precious mate and
there is nothing he can do to save you?”
A sick feeling twisted in my gut but | forced it down, “What are you planning?”
Dylan smirked. “Oh, I'm so glad you asked.”
He exhaled a slow, deliberate breath, as if savoring the words before he even spoke them.
“See, | could just kill him,” Dylan said, tilting his head. “End things cleanly, quickly. But that would be boring. No,
| want to break him first. | want him desperate. | want him helpless.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe took a turn sharply, the tires skidding slightly against the pavement.
“So, we start with the humans.”
My stomach dropped.
“You see, Ava, the problem with werewolves staying hidden is that it requires control. It requires a very delicate
balance. A balance your the Blackwoods have spent their lives maintaining.” Dylan smiled, slow and deliberate.
“All | have to do is tip it
over.”
“How?” | demanded, my voice hoarse.
Dylan shrugged. “I have spent a long tgetting myself attuned with magic. My mother was infatuated with it
and she madelove it too so I'll make shifters losing control in public. Maybe a few bodies showing up where
they shouldn't. And then, when the humans finally start asking more questions, when they start seeing things
they shouldn't, topping with what sof them have seen at the wedding which would still be spreading no
matter how much Grayson Blackwood tries to contain it,” He grinned, eyes flashing with something dark and
vicious.
“I give them a show.”
My heart slammed against my ribs.
Dylan continued, almost giddy now, “Imagine it. The humans, terrified, desperate for answers. Videos of wolves
shifting on the streets, broadcasted for the entire world to see. Panic spreading like wildfire and all this while
Grayson will be focused on saving you so it will make things so much easier. And then, just when it seems like it
can’t get worse-" He turned to me, his grin widening.
“| finally take him out once and for all. Publicly.”
