Chapter 83 The girl was staring at Max.
Max shielded his eyes with his elbow, his voice raspy as he said, "Get out!" What a total embarrassment he was! How did he end up in such a mortifying situation? The girl's face was wet with tears as she slowly straightened her clothes.
Her legs were shaking so badly as she stood up from the sofa that she could barely stand. Yet, she didn't dare to upset him, holding back her emotions as she walked out of the private room.
As soon as she closed the door, the sound of shattering glass echoed from inside, followed by a howl like a wounded animal.

The manager rushed over when he heard the commotion. Seeing the girl in such a state, he scolded her, "What the hell did you do to Mr. Velona?" The girl's lips were nearly bleeding from her biting them.
She hugged herself as if it would protect her and said with a trembling voice, "Mr. Velona mistookfor someone else. I told him I wasn't her, and he just blew up." The manager looked impatient. He glanced at the private room's door and lectured the girl, "What's the big deal? Even if Mr. Velona mistook you for someone else, even if he mistook you for a garlic bulb, you've still got to put up with it and compliment his good taste! If you wanna make money here, you gotta make the customers happy!" The girl lowered her head, not daring to argue.
The manager wanted her to apologize to Max, but then a customer cover asking for her specifically. Considering all customers were important, he sent the girl to entertain the new customer.
After sorting out the girl, the manager went to apologize to Max.
As he opened the door, the heavy smell of alcohol hit him like a wall.
The floor was littered with shards of glass and expensive red wine. It made the manager heartache! Max had already popped open two more bottles of wine.
Seeing the manager, he barely lifted his head, picked up his glass, and drained it in one go, drinking like a man possessed.
The manager poured him more wine like a dutiful waiter and tried to comfort him.
"Mr. Velona, wrecking your health over a woman isn't worth it!" Max squinted his eyes, "Who said?" The manager joined him in a drink and said, "Mr. Velona, you used to be so carefree!" Max was taken aback. Yes, that was true! He never let women trouble him. Even during his years with Eloise, there were always other women in his life. He would sleep with other women to satiate his physical needs, then go back to Eloise for love and romance.

Max lit a cigarette, took a long drag, and asked the manager, "If a woman's been touched by a man, does she fall harder for him? Does her affection last longer?" The manager laughed suggestively.
"Mr. Velona, times have changed. Nobody's as old-fashioned as you anymore! These days, women. sleeping with men is as simple as e having a meal or a cup of coffee! It's all about the vibe. If the vibe is right, anything goes. Like that girl, she's young and innocent. You seemed pretty satisfied last time, right? Cut her sslack and forgive her this time." Max had actually forgotten about her, but when the manager mentioned her, he casually asked, "Where is she?" He remembered her crying was quite adorable!
Seeing Max still interested, the manager cleared his throat and said, "She's in another room. If you like her, Mr. Vetona, I can arrange for her to accompany you next time." Max didn't respond. He was in a bad mood and continued drinking, getting completely wasted.
Once he was drunk, all he could think about was Eloise sitting on Harvey's lap, kissing him shyly yet passionately, driving Max insane! He was drunk but felt like he was on fire.
He even wanted to storm into Harvey's house, drag Eloise out, tell her he regretted everything that he ve was willing to give up the power given by the Horigan family, and that he could even stop seeing other women. All he wanted was for her to love him! It was only when he was completely hammered that he realized that those years when Eloise loved him were the happiest times of his life.
