She cracked the door open just enough to see Caroline, then reached out and pulled her inside.
The wind was strong, making it hard for Caroline to keep her eyes open. Strands of her hair whipped across her
face.
Caroline looked straight at Elizabeth and said, "Still haven't jumped?"
"You..." Elizabeth gritted her teeth. "You're just waiting forto die! You can't wait forto lose this baby, can
you?"
"Wrong," Caroline replied. "You better stay alive and make sure you bring that baby into this world."
She didn't believe for a second that David would keep Elizabeth around forever.
Once Elizabeth gave birth, with a child securing her status, she'd get whatever she wanted. She'd definitely start
scheming to kick Caroline out of the Ellison family and take her place as Mrs. Ellison.
And when that happened, Caroline would finally be free.
