groggy with sleep, she dressed and stepped out.

made a little of everything I could think of.”
Freya considered telling him not to go to such trouble—but then reminded herself that Kristian wasn’t truly a
child. In the end, all she asked was, “Did Lawrence teach you to cook?”

“Then how do you know?”
