Chapter 645: She softened her tone as she continued, "I trust only you to monitor things and keep us safe." Hearing the confidence in her voice, Gordon perked up. "Of course! Leave it to me." After hanging up, Allison made her way to the Lloyd family estate. She'd been thinking about Lorna and wanted to visit before her trip abroad.
When she arrived, she glanced around thoughtfully. "How's Lorna doing?" she asked.

Allison smiled but brushed off his last remark. "Where's she?" "She's still asleep. It's probably best for you to see her." Allison nodded and followed him upstairs. "No need to wake her. I'll just take a look." From the doorway, she could see Lorna's rosy cheeks nestled in soft white sheets, a small smile on her lips as though she were dreaming something sweet. It was the kind of sight that made anyone smile.
"Lorna looks so much better," Allison remarked as they moved to a quieter room to talk.
Just then, footsteps echoed down the hall.

"Allison, it's been a while." "Floyd?" Allison smiled warmly, looking him over. “Yes, it has been a while — since the auction, I think." They fell into an easy conversation.
"I heard you've been busy at the hospital lately, so I didn't want to disturb you. How's Lorna's condition?" she asked, her tone genuinely concerned.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"I've honestly been swamped lately, one case after another," Floyd muttered, rubbing his forehead with a mix of frustration and exhaustion. He couldn't shake the nagging feeling that ever since that confrontation with Gordon from the Herbert family, bad luck seemed to have latched onto him.
It wasn't just the frequent hospital calls — it seemed like all the cases he was dealing with now had something to do with the Herbert family. But as a doctor, he couldn't just turn his back.
Maybe he was overthinking it. After all, it was hard to believe that Gordon had any actual ties to Allison.
"As for Lorna, she's stable now, e starting to talk again," Floyd continued, his tone softening as he leaned forward, ignoring Kellan's cold stare from the corner of his eye. When Lorna's ncup, a hint of sympathy crept into his voice.
"Her biggest hurdle is her emotional recovery," Floyd said thoughtfullyn "She's still pretty withdrawn, afraid of Stil/ people. It's going to take time, but with patience, she'll get there."
