Morris wrapped up his speech and looked directly at Jules. "Mr. Jules, do you think what I did was fair?" Jules was left speechless, staring in disbelief at Mick, the CEO of Vincent Corporation and the man he had personally mentored as his successor. Jules had poured all his energy into Mick, believing him to be a man of integrity and talent. But now, watching Mick resort to such dirty tactics against Nathalie left him deeply disappointed.
Mick, clearly upset, burst out, "Morris, before you go seeking justice for Ashley, shouldn't you know about the whole mess betweenand Ashley first?" His face was a canvas of sorrow. "Nathalie's actions against the Dawson family were unforgivable. She drove my aunt to her death, dismantled Dawson International, and left my uncle bedridden for years. My cousin Cameron has never been the same, and my father, heartbroken over our family's downfall, fell ill and passed away. Nathalie toppled our family like a deck of cards. Morris, can you blme for wanting revenge?" Jules was taken aback. "Mick, you're part of the Dawson family?" Mick apologized, "Mr. Jules, I'm sorry for keeping my identity from you. It wasn't on purpose; it's just that seeing a once-great company like Dawson International brought down by a young woman was humiliating for our family." After piecing together the whole story, Jules remarked, "Nathan, you heard it all. Mick and Nathalie have a long- standing feud. Mick's actions against her aren't baseless. I can see why he did what he did." As Jules made his decision, Morris fiddled with a ring in his hand, then casually tossed it to the ground, letting it fall with a sharp clink.
Jules felt a pang in his heart, watching the cherished heirloom of Vincent Corporation treated so carelessly. Mrs. Vincent was even more taken aback. "Why does that ring look so familiar?" The assistant picked up the ring, intending to return it to Morris. But the old lady intercepted, "Letsee that." The assistant handed the ring to the old lady, who examined it closely and then turned pale. She looked at Jules in shock. "How did Nathan end up with this ring?" fo Jules explained, "I gave this ring to Kelly years ago. After she passed her husband must have taken it, and then Gavin passed it on to this young man." Mrs. Vincent was furious. "Jules, this is a Sharp family heirloom. How could you let it end up with the Yates family?" Jules quickly reassured her, "Don't worry, Mom. I'll make sure to get it back from Nathan." To everyone's surprise, Morris shrugged it off, "I don't need the ring anymore. Consider it a gift." Jules was caught off guard. "Weren't you just treasuring it the last time?" Morris replied, "Back then, I thought it was valuable and worth holding onto. Now, it just feels like any other trinket to me." Jules couldn't shake the feeling that Morris was subtly mocking him.
Unamused, Jules said, "Since your issue with Mick comes from oldm grudges. can't get involved. You'll have to sort it out yourselves."
Morris turned his attention to Mick, speaking calmly. "Mick, if there'sblto be placed, it's on me. The be downfall of the Dawson family had nothing to do with Nathalie. It was all my doing."
Mick's eyes filled with rage, teeth clenched. "What "What did you just say?"
