Chapter 393 393: The sender was none other than Stefan Hayes.

Kaden reached the base and headed straight to the main office, where he found Luke already waiting for him. "I hope this isn't a trap," Kaden said the moment he joined him.

"I doubt it," Luke replied, offering a calm assurance as he watched Kaden take a seat in the chair beside him at the broad table. "There's no way our intel would feed us false information." A large computer screen stood before them, lines of data scrolling steadily alongside a series of photographs. Kaden's eyes darkened as he studied the images intently.

"These are from years ago, back when Jeremy and Jedrick were partners," Luke began, his voice low and steady. "It's said that the reason Jeremy got involved in the illegal fight circuits — the ones that disappeared without a trace - was because of his connection to Jedrick." But what shocked Kaden the most was the identity of Jedrick's associate: none other than Sherlyn's father, the current mayor of the country.

"How long have you known about this?" Kaden asked, directing the question straight at Eveline.

He was certain — there was no way Stefan would've gotten involved in tracking down Jeremy unless his niece had pointed him in that direction.

"Ever since Jedrick reached out to Aunt Sherlyn... to treat Valeria," she answered quietly.

Eveline had her doubts from the very beginning. It never made sense - Jedrick knowing about Sherlyn, let alone seeking her out. And if he did, the situation reeked of more than coincidence. There was no reason for him to drag Sherlyn into something that had no direct connection to him.

From everything Eveline had learned about Jedrick, he wasn't the type to target people without reason. Vengeance was his only motive.
