just let him walk all over me? Because he’s in power now, should | just swallow my pride? The history | share

weakness?”
“Exactly. At first, | thought Khloe was just spassing distraction for him. But then he stood up for her at the
honor exam and defended her again at the National Biopharmaceutical Competition, showing no regard for your
humiliation. It’s clear now that she means something to him.” Harold's eyes gleamed with cold calculation. “We
can use her to bring Henrik down. I'll leave this task to you, Eric. You were once engaged to Khloe; surely you
can win her heart again, right?”
As Harold's words sank in, Eric felt a surge of burning desire. Even though Khloe now looked at him with nothing
but contempt, they had once shared an intimate connection. The idea that Khloe had completely shut him out of
her heart seemed impossible.
Since Khloe’s release from prison, Eric found her more alluring and remarkable than ever, which made it
