Chapter 339
Chapter 339:
Charlotte quickly shifted into her professional, scholarly mode and adjusted her glasses with precision. “I've
arranged everything with the experimental equipment and participants. Today's semifinals mark the second
round of the competition, and only ten contestants will advance to the third round.”
She paused for a moment. “Sloane and Eric are also in the competition, and their project focuses on cosmetic
surgery too.”
Khloe’s brow furrowed in surprise. “Sloane and Eric are working on something similar? How advanced is their
research?”
Charlotte shook her head. “Not sure yet. All we know is that their project falls under regenerative medicine as
well, but with the Watson family’s backing, they've got plenty of resources. We'll have to be cautious.”
Khloe nodded firmly, her eyes steely with resolve. “No matter what they've got planned, we'll stick to our
research. Let's go.”

The competition was on a grander scale than ever, with top labs, leading companies, and prestigious universities
all participating.
With three hundred participants and only ten spots available for the final round, the competition was fierce
beyond measure.
As they stepped into the venue, the air was thick with tension yet vibrant with energy, filled with people and
activity.
Three hundred transparent booths lined the venue, tightly packed like rows of compact workstations.
The venue was brimming with people, teams prepping their work, and state-of-the-art equipment proudly
displayed on the platforms.
Khloe and Charlotte quickly found their designated space and began setting up their equipment and materials.
Suddenly, an arrogant voice rang out from behind them.

“Hold on! This spot’s taken.”
Khloe and Charlotte stopped and turned around.
Sloane was there, her arms crossed and a look of disdain and arrogance on her face, with Eric by her side, his
expression unreadable but his eyes looking at Khloe with subtle complexity.
Khloe frowned slightly. “Sloane? Haven't you had your fill of defeat yet?”
Her cheeks burning with rage, Sloane quickly regained her composure and retorted, “Keep that cockiness in
check, Khloe! Last time, | simply underestimated you. | didn’t expect you'd manage to sweet-talk Henrik into
giving you that shopping mall. We were interested in this spot first, so step aside.”
“Oh really, Sloane? Did that last blow jumble your thoughts? We operate on a first-come, first-served basis here.
We arrived first. Perhaps it’s tyou went hto reevaluate your understanding of common sense!” Charlotte
fired back, her voice dripping with disbelief.
Shaking with anger and pointing her finger at Charlotte, Sloane snapped, “And who are you to speak tothat
way? Just because you're tagging along with Khloe doesn’t give you the right to snarl at everyone. And keep in
mind, Khloe’s grip on being Henrik’s fiancée isn't as strong as you might think!”
Summoning security with a wave of her hand, Sloane stood tall, displaying her badge arrogantly. “Remove them.

The security guard, recognizing Sloane’s badge, nodded respectfully. “Understood, Miss Evans.”
However, his demeanor hardened as he turned to face Khloe and Charlotte, announcing, “Miss Evans claims this
area. You need to vacate immediately.”
A researcher with a round face from Khloe’s team objected angrily, “Why should we? The competition rules
clearly state that the labs are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis! How can you evict us without a valid
reason? We were here first!”
