Chapter 216 A Fake Address
Charmaine was momentarily stunned.
“You already know about Milo’s disappearance?”

“Of course! The Nelsons made a huge fuss about it first thing in the morning. They even wanted to borrow Ydris
Group's tech team, but there's no way I'd lend them our people!”
Charmaine nodded. “You did the right thing. Don’t lend them to the Nelsons.”
Rex was just starting to feel proud of himself, thinking his boss was finally seeing things clearly.
But the next second, Charmaine said, “Lend them toinstead. | need them to find Milo quickly.”
Rex was flabbergasted.
“Are you serious, boss? This could be an internal conflict within the Nelsons. If you get involved, they might end
up blaming you for it. And you still want to help them?”
Charmaine gazed out the car window at the passing cityscape with an unreadable expression. “I'm not helping

Rex was baffled. “What do you mean?”
“If I'm right,” Charmaine said, “Leah and Bennett had a hand in Milo’s disappearance.”
Rex gasped. “No way! Milo treats her like a mother hen protecting her chicks. Why would she do this to him?”
A dark glint flickered through Charmaine’s eyes. “Because Milo isn’t as blindly devoted to her as he used to be.
He’s becan obstacle to her.”
Rex stiffened.
For all his usual carefree attitude, he was sharp when it counted.
He immediately pieced things together. “Milo has been trying to get back in your good graces lately, even
convincing the Nelsons to accept you. That's gotta be threatening Leah's position!”
Charmaine’s voice was steady. “Milo disappeared while searching for the nurse involved in the baby- swapping
incident years ago. Someone deliberately led him to a fake address. They wanted to get rid of him and make the
Nelsons believe that | was the reason for his disappearance, so they'd hateeven more.”
She lowered her voice. “I don’t want to be dragged into their mess, but | also won't take the blfor something
I didn't do.”
By this point, Rex fully grasped the severity of the situation.
He put aside his usual teasing and any bias he had against Milo, responding seriously, “I'll have my team look
into it right away.”
Rex's tech specialists were among the best in the country. It didn’t take long for them to confirm that Milo had
exited the highway and entered a specific county before disappearing.

“The place is underdeveloped, and the city doesn’t have many surveillance cameras,” Rex explained. “There are
only three traffic cameras on the main roads that caught sight of Milo’s Porsche, but none of them confirm which
mountain he headed toward.”
He couldn’t help but complain. “Seriously, what was he thinking when he ran off to sdeserted rural area in
the middle of the night to find someone? Was it really that urgent? Couldn’t he have waited until morning?”
Charmaine stared at the surveillance footage on her phone.
The images were grainy, but she could make out Milo’s restless movements as he waited at a red light,
drumming his fingers impatiently.
He was in a hurry-so much so that he couldn't afford to wait even a second longer.
A flicker of something unreadable passed through Charmaine’s eyes. “Rex, geta sports car.”

Rex immediately understood her intention and shouted, “I'm coming with you!”
At the police station.
“Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, this is Mr. Isaac,” Daniel introduced.
“And, Mr. Isaac, this is Mr. and Mrs. Nelson.”
Olympia’s eyes were swollen from crying and she clung to Isaac Lynch like he was her last hope. “Mr. Isaac,
please! You have to help us find our son!”
Willard, looking exhausted, grasped Isaac’s hands tightly. “Mr. Isaac, my son is not sreckless troublemaker. If
he’s gone all night without contact, something has definitely happened to him. It hasn't been 48 hours yet, so
the police won't launch a full search, but | know my son. I have no choice but to rely on you.”
Isaac nodded. “Rules are rigid, but people aren't. Don’t worry too much. I've already mobilized all available
resources to search for Mr. Milo. We should have news soon.”
“Thank you! Thank you, Mr. Isaac!”
“There's no need to thank me. This is my job. Please take a moment to rest while | make arrangements.”
As Isaac left, Leah gently comforted Olympia. “Mom, Dad, Mr. Isaac is very skilled at this. I'm sure we'll hear
something soon. You've both been up all night. Why don’t you rest in the car for a bit? Daniel and | will stay here
and keep watch.”
Olympia wiped at her tears and looked at Leah who was acting like an obedient girl.
