Chapter 49 I never expected that one day Zion would voluntarily confess this matter, and even more so, that it was to make Selena stay.

Selena looked atsuspiciously, her eyes filled with complex emotions I couldn't decipher.

"Hudson, is this true?" she askedcoldly.

I was a bit puzzled. "Didn't you already know?" After all, why would Selena have smashed her phone if she wasn't afraid I would leave? But I hadn't realized that Selena actually didn't know the true reason I decided to stay. Did she think I was here solely because of her? She didn't respond immediately and just kept staring at me. Then, she turned away and took a deep breath as if trying to calm herself.

"You two can leave now. I need to think about this matter." Selena waved her hand.

Once again, she chasedaway, but I felt less confused than before.

At least I now understood that keepingin Adenville to take care of Selena seemed to have been Zion's intention alone and nobody else's.

After being thrown out and threatened by Selena, Zion felt distressed. He held his head in his hands, questioning himself, mumbling as if he were in deep self-doubt.

I couldn't be bothered with Zion. His pain had nothing to do with me. On the contrary, I had endured quite a bit of suffering because of him.

Sometimes, when someone disliked you, they would indiscriminately create trouble for you and blyou for that, just like Zion did. After rambling to himself for a few minutes, he turned to attack me.

"It's all your fault! If you hadn't taken that file from Andy and given it to Selena, she wouldn't be insisting on being discharged. Hudson, if anything happens to her, I won't let you off the hook!" As I no longer had to rely on Selena, I wasn't particularly afraid of Zion's threats.

I believed that as long as Selena was here, he couldn't do anything to me. Looking into his eyes, I suddenly felt an impulse to look down on him. "You need to understand that this situation has cto be because of your own actions." Upon hearing my words, Zion got angry and raised his hand as if to hit me, but he was shorter than me, and I easily caught his arm as he swung.

I grabbed Zion's arm, shaking my head, feeling his helplessness.

He was fragile, lacking any masculine strength men should have.

Kids these days really didn't pay attention to thell condition or work on fitness! It was one thing to look weak, but they couldn't afford to actually be weak.

"Zion, you better not provoke me," I whispered coldly in his ear before in releasing his arm and returning to the ward.

As I pushed open the door, I found Selena sitting there. Her computer was on. She stared at it blankly, lost in thought. "Have you figured it out? What are you going to choose?" I asked.
