Chapter 294:
Ever since Adrian found out that Stella was hospitalized, he showed up at the hospital every day, right on time.
He would hold her hand and talk non-stop, telling her how tired he was from the small things at kindergarten,
how he argued with Alia, and how he got full marks on his tests. RK listened until he was completely worn out.
Each time, Adrian was reluctant to leave, and RK would have to drag him into the car and ask the driver to take
him home.
Since Stella had been hospitalized, RK hadn't returned to the Kingston family home. With Stella still unconscious,
he couldn't bring himself to leave her side. As long as she didn’t wake up, he would stay with her every single
day.
That afternoon, RK was gently wiping Stella's face when he heard a commotion outside the door.
“I'm sorry, Mr. Davis, you can’t go in.”
When Tristan finally cleared up his affairs and rushed back to the hospital, Stella had already been transferred
from the ICU to a general ward. When he tried to enter the room, RK’s bodyguards blocked him.
“Why? Is this RK’s doing?” Tristan immediately guessed who was behind it. Otherwise, why would they stop him
so aggressively?
“Mr. Kingston said that Miss Richard needs complete peace and shouldn't be disturbed.”

So, Tristan was now considered a nuisance. RK really had a new opinion of him.
“Can’t | just go in for a moment? Just to see her?” Tristan asked, realizing that until Stella woke up, it was better
to play along with RK’s demands. Otherwise, he might never get to see her.
“No. Tristan, don’t you know you’re very noisy? The mask | just put on Stella's face has already fallen off,” RK’'s
voice cfrom between the bodyguards, his expression unfriendly.
“RK, who do you think you are? What right do you have to keepfrom seeing her?”

“Oh, it’s not about rights. I just don’t want to see you in there. If you've got the ability to get past me, then by all
means, go ahead,” RK replied smugly, as if daring him to try.
Tristan was speechless. If only his life could be rid of RK, things would be perfect. He had seen shameless people
before, but RK was on another level.
Left with no choice, Tristan backed off. At least he knew Stella was safe. He didn’t want to cause a scene at her
door, so he called Emily to remind her to visit Stella often.
Emily’s situation wasn’t much better than Tristan’s. Though she could enter Stella’s room, RK wouldn't let her get
within half a meter of the bed. She could barely even see her friend's face. RK guarded Stella like a hawk, so
much so that even a fly wouldn't stand a chance of getting near her, let alone a person.
It was as if RK had turned into an overprotective mother. Whether this was personal growth or decline was
anyone's guess.
That afternoon, Adrian arrived in a hurry after school. Now, except for Adrian, RK didn’t allow anyone near Stella.
Even Emily, who was Stella's best friend, could only stand a half-meter away. As for people like Tristan, who had
feelings for Stella, they were barred entirely.
Every day, RK personally cared for Stella—washing her face, applying her face masks, and using a cotton swab
to give her water. He insisted on doing everything himself.
To be fair, he had hired a nurse for tasks he couldn't perform, like cleaning her body. After all, if he tried to do
that, Stella would never forgive him when she woke up.
The person RK spoke to the most every day was Stella, and the person he called the most was also Stella.
“Darling, I'm here!” Adrian crunning into the ward.
RK grabbed him, helping him take off his schoolbag and coat. “Adrian, you can’t be too rough. Darling's body is
very weak right now.”
Adrian pouted and stood awkwardly while RK helped him, clearly not used to such fussing. Once he was free of
his coat, he dashed over to Stella's bed and began talking endlessly.
“Darling, Darling, the begonias have bloomed! All the begonias in the garden in front of our house are blooming.
It’s so beautiful. | went to see them yesterday, but you weren't there, so it was much quieter.”

“Darling, we played games at kindergarten today, and we won first place again! The teacher said I'm very
smart.”
“Darling, my teacher asked why you haven't pickedup from school lately. | told her you were sick and that
Bad Uncle was taking care of you, so the driver picksup instead.”
“Darling, today our teacher had us recite a poem. I've already memorized it. Listen, I'll recite it for you:
How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin,
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
With gently smiling jaws!
My teacher says I'm a genius, a child prodigy, because | can memorize and recite poems like this!”
RK interrupted, “If you keep reciting poems like that, believe me, Stella will sleep even more soundly.”
