Chapter 103:
Stella shook his hand off her arm and said awkwardly, “Tristan... I'm sorry. Don’t mention it again. | didn’t mean
to.”
As the two of them were talking, a deep voice interrupted from the side.
When Stella looked in the direction of the voice, she saw a familiar figure walking toward them. His cold gaze
was fixed on Stella, and his terrifying dark eyes held a power that made her shiver.
Stella sighed inwardly. She didn’t know why her luck was so bad. Why did she always run into this man during
her lunch break?
RK walked past Stella, glanced at her, and said coldly, “There is only one minute left before lunch break ends.
Get back to work.”
Stella felt speechless, but since the boss had spoken, what could she do?
After RK finished speaking, his cold eyes shifted from Stella to Tristan, who was standing across from her. The
two men locked eyes, and it was as if there were hidden forces exploding between them.
Every tthese two looked at each other, Stella always felt the atmosphere was strange, as if there was

Once RK left, Stella turned to Tristan and said, “Tristan, | have to get back to work.”
Tristan didn’t let go of her arm immediately, but he relaxed his grip and said, “Stella, | don’t like you working at
his company. Go hand think carefully about accepting me. | can support both you and Adrian with my
abilities—it’s more than enough.”
He had always been a respectful person, especially when it cto Stella. Whatever her choice, he would
unconditionally support her, no matter the circumstances.
That's why, in the past, when Stella agreed to marry RK, he chose to step back.
Tristan was tough and forceful, but when it cto Stella, he couldn't bring himself to hurt her. That's why
everything he did was for her sake.
Stella didn’t say anything. She lowered her head to hide the thoughts in her eyes.
At that moment, Stella couldn't explain anything, so she simply nodded and walked away.

As for Tristan, there were too many things between them—things that weren't easily resolved.
It wasn't just the years of separation but also the relationship they had as brother and sister. More importantly,
there were moral and ethical issues involved. That wasn’t something easily overcome.
What's more, Stella didn’t want to drag Tristan down. There was too much of a gap in their statuses. So, being
with him was something she had never considered.
On the way back to the office, Emily couldnt help but say, “Stella, don’t you want to consider Tristan? He cares
so much about you!”
She added, “Lettell you, he’s much better than your ex-husband! Look at RK—just now, while you were
talking to Tristan, RK still tried to control you.
He's your ex-husband! What right does he have to do that? You've already divorced him! He's really... too
much!”
Emily was clearly angry and dissatisfied.
She couldn't just stand by and watch Stella suffer. Maybe it was because they had spent so many years abroad
together, or maybe because they had taken care of each other and Adrian for so long.
Stella was very grateful to Emily. Over time, they had beclike sisters, advising each other on life matters.
Stella shook her head and sighed. She spoke slowly, “It’s impossible for anything to happen betweenand
Tristan. I've always treated him as my brother since we were young.”
But now... suddenly, their relationship had changed from that of siblings to something more like lovers. No

What's more, deep down, she wasn’t sure she could fully give herself to him—not in that way, not in love.
Emily continued, “Hey! You're one of a kind, you know that? In my opinion, Tristan is one of the most reliable
men out there! He can take care of you and Adrian like no one else can.”
She added, “It's true! He's loved you for years, and even after you divorced and had a child, he never looked
down on you. That kind of devotion... that’s real love!”
Stella remained silent.
Emily persisted, “Stella, don’t rush to make a decision! If you want to find a father for Adrian, | think Tristan is the
best choice. Think about it... isn’t that true?”
Stella sighed, feeling a wave of complicated emotions. Maybe Tristan really was a reliable man, especially for
Adrian’s sake.
But she didn’t want to be with Tristan just because of that. It wouldn't be fair to him.
“Forget it! Don’t mention it. Let's just let things unfold naturally,” Stella said, shaking her head. She didn’t want
to discuss the matter anymore.
As they waited for the elevator, they saw RK heading toward the president's private elevator.
Emily couldn’t help but mutter discontentedly, “I think your ex-husband wants to have it both ways! He's already
divorced you, but he still wants to control you and keep you away from other men. What a bastard!”
