Chapter 111

The task no one wanted to take had cinto Nola’s hands. They made the decision for her without asking for

her opinion.

Nola knew the client was difficult to handle, and the other colleagues couldn’t handle it well, so they left it to her,

an intern. Nola also understood that this was probably something Deborah had already planned and wanted to

use the morning meeting to turn the matter over to her.

It had nothing to do with how busy her other colleagues were. It was about who Deborah wanted to turn this

over to and take the blfor.

After the meeting, everyone looked at Nola with gloating eyes as if waiting to see her make a fool of herself. She

was an assistant and inexperienced, so what good design could she make? In the end, she would be scolded

badly by the client.

With this opportunity, Deborah could use this as an excuse to drive Nola away. If the design succeeded, the

designer would be considered competent. The Grayson Group never wanted useless people, so everyone firmly

believed that Nola’s end was doomed.

Everyone couldn't help snickering when Nola entered the office with Deborah.

Misfortunes never csingly. In the eyes of others, Nola’s fantasy had just been destroyed when she learned

that Elvis had a wife. Now, before she could recover, her boss had given her such a difficult assignment.

If Nola couldn't do it well, there was only one outcfor her, to leave the company.

In the office, when their eyes met, Deborah finally spoke.

“I know you may not understand my decision today, but we are the same. In the end, Elvis married someone

else. | already knew the news and was doing that to help you.”

Deborah told Nola sincerely that she was trying to help her.

“I don’t understand what you mean, Miss Garcia.”

“There's no one else here, so you don’t have to be overcautious. There have been conflicts, but I don’t think

there will be any

should in the future. All girls like to dream about their prince charming, and I've had such a dream before, but

now you wake up. We must know that there are sthings we may never get.”

Nola frowned. She hadn't expected Deborah to ask her to cto her office to talk about something like this.

“S07”

“| deliberately gave you this difficult case. Only if you do it well will you prove your ability. Then you will have a

reason to stay in the company. Mr. Grayson is a fair man, but if his wife finds out what happened between you

and Mr. Grayson, do you think you can still work here as an intern?”

So that’s what it was all about!

Nola tried to explain, but Deborah interrupted her directly, “I'm doing this for your good! At this point, Mr.

Grayson’s wife won't allow you to stay in the company. No woman would allow that. But if you prove yourself,

you can stay here as a professional designer, and she won't be able to kick you out. A lot of people dream of

working for the Grayson Group. | hope you can appreciate the opportunity.”

Those who didn’t know the situation would really think that Deborah was doing everything for Nola. Her sincere

eyes almost touched Nola.

The in the office was getting more and more exciting day by day.

“Miss Garcia, it turns out that you're doing that all for me.”

“We should be on the sside. We are both people who have lost a lot. Since neither you nor | can get him, we

should not stand against each other. You are a smart girl and should know what is best for you at this time?

Nola chuckled. She didn’t want to be mocked as a lunatic anymore. She swallowed the explanation that was

about to cout of her mouth.

Why bother? Her colleagues did not believe her when she told them, let alone Deborah. The fact would prove

itself in the future, and she didn’t need to explain it

As for whether that was the case, Nola didn’t know if Deborah was doing it for her good or if Deborah was

looking for a reason to kick her out of the company, but Nola wasn’t so naive as to believe Deborah's words.

“I hope you can adjust your attitude and do a good job with this design. The other party is the largest flower

supplier in town and has a successful business. It would help if you learned about the situation first. You still have

one week. Whether or not you can stay in the Grayson Group depends on this.”

“Then | have to thank you for your consideration, Miss Garcia. | will work hard, and | won't let you down”

Deborah let out a long sigh and looked at Nola with sympathy and sarcasm in her eyes. Now, Nola has become

the biggest joke in the Grayson Group. She didn’t expect Nola could remain calm.

“You're too young. You were too impulsive when you made the decision. I've known Elvis for so long, but I've

never seen him fall in love with any other woman except for Nancy.”

Deborah thought she should remind Nola at this tthat her heart, which was badly hurt, was even more

painful.

Nola was so calm that even she was almost fooled.

Deborah firmly believed that Nola was pretending to be calm. Nola might don’t want to embarrass herself in

front of others. Deborah had experienced it before, and it was very uncomfortable. Her words were like a sharp

knife that pierced deep into

her heart.

Now, Nola’s heart was filled with joy.

“Just because it didn’t happen in the past doesn’t mean it won't happen in the future.”

“I don’t know if it will happen in the future, but I'm sure it won't happen to you. What? Are you still not ready to

accept the fact? I'm being very direct, but it was all true. You can do nothing about it, even if you don’t like to

hear it. Who do you think you are? Nola, you're just a clown. Elvis never loved you. You've always thought too

much of yourself. Do you understand?”

Nola didn’t refute, just smiled indifferently.

Seeing Deborah so excited, Nola felt that the woman in front of her was pathetic. Deborah probably hoped that

Nola would be completely defeated so that Deborah could at least feel better and could still tell herself that she

had never lost to someone she had never thought highly of.

The office battle that everyone was looking forward to did not appear. This time, there was not even a word of

quarrel inside. It was so calm that it was almost frightening.

Was this the calm before the storm?

Everyone thought that if Nola had been in charge of this task, there would not be a good result for Nola.

Everyone was very active in putting all the documents on Nola’s desk.

Nola’s small table, which had been piled with many documents, was now almost full.

Nola looked at the documents in front of her and twitched her mouth. Only at this twould her colleagues be

active.

Everyone here should be looking forward to her being abandoned by EIf and fleeing in a panic.

It was a pity that she would let everyone down.
