Boris spread his hands. “Mr. Ellison toldto send you to his office before the meeting starts. Until you see him,
the R&D meeting cannot proceed. In other words, this entire meeting is being held up until you go to him first.”
Caroline's jaw tightened.

“I'm not going,” she said without hesitation. “Start the meeting as scheduled, Mr. Boris. If there are any
consequences, I'll take full responsibility.”

At 9:40 sharp, the meeting room was filled, and the discussion began on time.
