Chapter 418 The Threat +8 Pearls Thrice finished picking at his teeth, throwing the toothpick onto the floor with a casual flick.
"That guy told me," he began, "once we kidnap him, we won't have to worry about food or clothes anymore. We're just doing someone else a favor. Once we hand the kid off, the money's ours. We'll head overseas and live like kings. Who's gonna find us?" His laugh was low, harsh.
My brow furrowed. So they planned to sell that handsguy for money.
Before I could process the thought, another man, bald and sitting on a stool, spoke up. "Hold on, Thrice. If that kid's spack's only heir, what about the girl? What's her deal? Are we sure we're not getting played here?" Thrice waved him off dismissively. His face was unreadable.
"Her? She's just extra. She almost ruined the plan when she saw us dragging the kid out of the park. If I didn't take care of her, she'd be a problem. I brought her back, though. She's pretty-easy to sell off later. Another payday for us." "Alright, enough talk. Let's go check on them. Don't make too much noise. We don't want a mess," Thrice muttered drunkenly.
He stood up, knocking over a bottle with a loud clang.
I quickly dashed outside, feigning ignorance of everything happening.

I waited until they were out of sight, then crept back to the window, peeking inside. One of the men had shifted into a massive black wolf, emerging from a cage. He dragged a black bear, its muzzle locked in steel, behind him.
Werewolves and black bears were natural enemies.
This one, though smaller, was still enough to make my skin crawl.
I didn't know where they were taking the bear, but my mind was consumed with worry for Caden. I stayed hidden, watching from the window, hoping for a glimpse of him.
Inside the dimly lit room, the werewolf girl huddled in the corner, sitting on a bed. Caden sat beside her, his brow furrowed as he examined his surroundings carefully.
"Do you think ... do you think we'll make it back home?" The girl's voice trembled, barely above a whisper.
She was just a child, caught in a strange, terrifying place. Of course, she was scared.
"Don't be scared. Someone will cto save us," Caden said, his voice steady, lips pressed tight.
A voice, sharp with mockery, sliced through the air. "Two little kids dreaming big, thinking someone's coming to save you?" TL- T 11 1 1.

+8 Pearls A half-grown black bear was dragged into the room. They tied it to a pillar, and with a harsh click, removed its steel muzzle. The bear blinked, its bloodshot eyes adjusting to the dim light.
"Who are you? Let us go!" Caden yelled, his hands still bound.
His fists tightened as he stood in front of the werewolf girl, shielding her. He didn't flinch, glaring at Thrice.
But when his eyes landed on the bear, his face turned pale, and his body recoiled.
Thrice chuckled, low and cold. The black bear, agitated, sniffed the air, locking its eyes on the two werewolves. It exhaled, hot, rancid breath swirling in their direction..

Caden's voice cracked with defiance. "My grandfather will bring all the werewolf warriors. He'll tear you apart!" Caden straightened, chest rising with a deep, controlled breath. He avoided the bear's gaze, fighting to keep his composure.
The werewolves laughed harder, their amusement growing at Caden's words.
To them, he was just a young, naive werewolf-his threats were nothing but a joke.
"You know where you are, kid? You haven't even grown into your fur, and you think you're scaring us? Letve tell you something: not even your grandpa, or the Moon Goddess herself, will save you. You two better stay put, or-"
