Chapter 351 Escaping Death Rosaline's POV: +8 Pearls At the foot of Everburn Hill's cliff, towering trees loomed overhead, their leafy canopies blocking sunlight from reaching the forest floor, which was blanketed in lush grass. Yet, one area stood out-a chaotic mix of snapped branches, knotted weeds, and crumpled leaves disrupted the natural order.

A pained groan slipped from my lips as I jolted awake from a disturbing dream.

My eyes fluttered open, and I glanced around, disoriented.

Shadowy foliage surrounded me, the thick undergrowth buzzing with the distant cries of unfamiliar creatures.

Pressing my hands to my forehead, I focused as fragmented memories gradually pieced themselves back together.

The memories crushing back-Candice had taken Yura as a hostage, forcedinto a deadly standoff with a bomb, and then leaped off the cliff, draggingdown with her.

At the brink of death, Caden had thrown himself afterwithout a second thought.

Somewhere in the freefall, my terror overwhelmed me, and I blacked out.

But his injuries were severe! Shoving down the panic clawing at my chest, I scrambled to his side and gave him a gentle push. "Ca can you hear me?" My voice wavered despite my efforts to stay calm.

There was no reaction. Not even the slightest movement.

Heart pounding, I leaned in and carefully inspected his wounds.

His injuries were grave-there wasn't a single part of him left untouched, and the multiple fractures only.
