Simon quickly approached, his expression full of urgency, and called out to the guards," Stand down!"
The guards hesitated for a moment, confused. They had just been ordered to eliminate Suzy, and now they were
being told to retreat. But orders were orders, and within moments, they dispersed, returning to their posts.
Once they were gone, Evangeline stepped closer to Suzy and lowered her voice. "Simon is your brother?"
Suzy raised a brow, her tone cutting. "You didn't know? Looks like your relationship isn't as great as he made it
out to be."
Evangeline gestured toward her chambers. "We should talk privately."
"What's the matter? Afraid of being overheard?" Suzy sneered, suddenly gripping Evangeline by the throat.
"Evangeline, today's the day you meet your end!"
Before she could act further, Simon's voice rang out. "Stop!"

“Shut up!” Suzy jabbed a finger in his direction, her voice icy. "You almost hadfooled. But | overheard
everything-you and Serena conspiring. You're no brother of mine. You're just another one of her pawns!"
"lI am your brother!" Simon insisted, taking a step closer. "Look at my left arm- there's a scar from when you got
stuck climbing that treehouse as a kid, and I had to help you down. It's still there!"
"Resorting to the family sob story now?" Suzy let out a bitter laugh, her tone dripping with mockery. "No matter
how convincing you act, | won't fall for it again. | heard you scheming with Serena. You were sent by her to
impersonate my brother!"
"She's lying!" Simon's voice rose sharply, his tone filled with urgency. "Serena is deliberately trying to drive a
wedge between us. | am your brother, Suzy. If you don't believe me, we can do a DNA test!"

"Don't!" Evangeline's voice rang out as she stepped forward, panic etched across her face. She placed a hand on
